Nanhua University’s Bai-Ru Chen awarded the Cross-Strait Relations and Mainland News Reporting Award for Audio/Visual Citizen Journalism.
Bai-Ru Chen, a master’s student in the Department of Communication Management at Nanhua University, recently attended the 18th Cross-Strait Relations and Mainland News Reporting Awards. Mr Chen won the Audio/Visual Citizen Journalism award for his piece, Loving Alishian – Marriages across the Sea, a reported on romantic wedding ceremonies held at the sacred trees on Alishan mountain. The usually private ceremonies were for the first time open to outsiders (Mainland Chinese and South East Asian visitors) in 2013. Mr Chen is no stranger to the Cross-Strait Relations and Mainland News Reporting Awards as this was his fourth nomination and the third time he has received the prestigious award.
